I'm planning on getting a new MBA when the new lineup arrives and was looking at alternatives to Mac's grossly overpriced SuperDrive. I was thinking that an external blu ray drive would be nice to have and if it cost only slightly more than a SuperDrive then why not? But I have seen a lot of comments about Mac software being incapable of reading and playing blu ray movies and such. I've heard a lot about stuff like FAT-32 and NFTS or something like that. So my question is what are those programs and is it difficult to get blu ray to work on a mac.
I apologize for my technological incompetence.
Thanks for your input.

Sorry, there is no software that will play commercial B-R movies on a Mac.

Have you tried it out? If so, how well does it work?

I hate those sites (such as that one) that never even bother to have an english speaker read over their web site before going live.

They're not putting out a legitimate piece of software. They're hacking (and rather poorly it looks like) instead of paying for the rights to be able to provide a real solution. The list of titles that will not play is as long as the list of those that will.

For those of us that want to put a B-R into a device and know that it is going to play, that is no solution. A solution where you have to wonder if it will play "this" disc when you insert it, is no solution.

It was just a quick search. I found it on Macworld as an option. I did not think Macworld would review Hack software. Well that just lowered my outlook on Macworld's News.
