Every time that I have to sign into a page, forum or bank, etc. I get an annoying little window pop up asking me if I want the machine to remember the user name and password. It hasn't happened all the time and I can't pin down when it started. Any ideas as to how to stop the blasted thing Please?

I'm using Firefox 5.0.1, the latest version, on OS10.6.7

Are you using any kind of password manager software such as 1Password? And have you looked into preferences for Firefox to see if there is an option to remember logins?

Go to Firefox > Preferences > Security. In there is a checkbox to remember passwords. If you don't like the password manager, simply uncheck that.
