Since I bought my laptop 3 years ago I have gone through 3 chargers. The chargers dont actually break, they just die. Today I began using my friends charger and his got messed up when in my laptop. Is it possible my laptop messes up chargers?

A defective or marginal DC input board could be responsible for destroying the MagSafe chargers. Did you ever take the machine in to Apple when it was under warranty and have them check it out?
Also, I'm assuming you replaced the charger each time with a genuine Apple MagSafe charger not a replacement or cheap knock off.
