PowerMac G5 wont turn on

Hi

I've recently aquired a 2GHZ powermac G5. The problem I have is it wont turn on.
When I press the start button the fans start to whirl but the white light doesn't stay on. The monitor shows no sign of life (not even a light) there is power there if I press the monitor start button that lights briefly.

I have tried to reset the PMU.
If I put in the install disc you can hear it spin but again nothing.

Is it simply a logic board problem? and how can I check?

The parts and cost of the job would be worth more than the G5 is worth. If you are reasonably confident inside a computer, have a go yourself. This is the type and cost of the unit, but first check out the model number and then Google that:-
