However, I'm always reluctant to share personal info on any of these social media/networking sites, hence not much info haha.

EDIT: my new G+ profile is up.. i gotta say, this is the type of social networking program? site? network? whatever, that i like.. simple, clean, no ads (or very minimal).

Everyone has to have had an invitation somehow, even your friend. Maybe he just didn't realize he got one?

You can PM any of the people who are already in with your email address and they can invite you.
