Micro USB question

Main-11" Air, iPhone 6+, iPad Mini 3, Hi-Fi Extras- Too many to count
I am looking to jailbreak my apple tv 2 and I am confused because I follow the steps to install it and it wont connect to my mac. I am using the amazon kindle micro USB cable to connect the atv will this cable work for this purpose?

I would think it should, but since you are having trouble, the facts speak for themselves. There's always the possibility you are doing something wrong, but until you try a new cable, you won't be sure.

I finally did get the atv into dfu mode at 3 in the morning. I had to use pwnage tool to get it though.
