Folder appears empty

Hello all - first of all, thanks for taking the time to read this thing and trying to give me your input.

I have used ff_rename to try to make a batch file name change in an attempt to organize my iphoto library. Since I did not read the instructions, I am assuming that I created a rule that did not make sense and now all my folders under my pics appear empty...(I used all the originals and deleted the library backup files because I wanted to start with Iphoto from scratch)

The only thing that gives me hope is that all the folders appear to be too big to be empty...as if the pictures were still there...one of them for example is 90MB when I do the folder's "get info", but there is nothing when I open it.

Ideas? Thoughts?
Thank you all...

No backup then? Sympathies.

It's not likely you'll get much of an expert audience in The Lounge, with a title that doesn't mention iPhoto.

Thanks for your answer :)
Yup, I was not sure were to place this thing....
Here is a more detailed explanation of the problem...and no...no backup! :(

In an attempt to batch rename all my pictures, I ended up changing all the names to "".jpeg00001, .jpeg00002 ...etc etc - instead of 00001.jpeg, 00002.jpeg - you get the idea...
Now I am having a problem trying to retrieve the files and renaming them correctly.

I have tried using Automator but could not find a way around it.
the pictures are in the folder, but since the name is blank = "".jpeg000...
I dont see anything...
However, when I try to import the folders to iphoto, it tells me .jpeg0001 is not a valid files extension

Ah, the issue is becoming clearer! The files are there, but files with a period in front of the name are invisible. Some folks have mentioned R-Name as a possible tool to resolve the naming issue.

But isn't there a way to temporarily make all invisible files visible? I could swear I've read that somewhere.

Browse to the folder where the images should be stored. Open a Find File window (Command-F). From the filter pulldowns, select Other. Select the visibility filter. Search for Invisible files.
