As a new iMac user, I couldn't figure out why half of the photos I tried to edit in Adobe Elements 9 (used as the iPhoto default editor) caused a jpeg error in Adobe elements when I used the external editor choice. If I dragged the photos directly into Adobe, they loaded fine. Whatever was wrong has been fixed with the new iPhoto update and I no longer have the problem.
