connection failed

Hello

My internet connection and email are working fine. But iTunes Mac OS software update, any networked app is failing to connect.

I've run diagnostics and run into a wall. The DCHP client ID fails. I'm stumped.

Are you using a router or router - modem combination? How are you connected - ethernet or wireless? If wireless, are you using encryption?

cable modem


I have McAfee installed but turned off

sorry, Mac Pro dual core. running 10.5. 8

also, I'm using ethernet, with just the cable modem and the Mac is 2008

Can you connect here? Apple
I would remove the AV they cause more problems without solving anything on a Mac.
I would also check your router/modem and make sure it does not have filtering turned on blocking sites.
