Dell U3011 Mac Mini Late 2009 - Screen Resolution

Hi

I have a 2.53 Ghz Mac mini - late 2009 I believe.
GEForce 9400 Graphics with 256MB memory
4GB system memory, 320GB hard disk.


I have a Dell U3011 attached via the Mini Display Port (Not a dual link connector).

The best resolution I am seeing is 1600x1200.
I would have thought I should be able to get 1920x1200 without a dual link adapter?

Does any one have any idea why I dont see 1920x1200 as an option ?

The screen is recognised as a DELL U3011 in System Preference, Displays.

?? Am only guessing you're using a DVI connection at the monitor instead of the Displayport?

Yes I have a Display port to DVI adapter that plugs into the U3011.

The mac mini shows the highest resolution available as 1600x1200.

I know I need a DiaplayPort to DUAL DVI adapter to get 2560x1600, however I thought I would get the option of 1920x1200 with the existing adapter...
