CharMap for Unicode characters?

Recently I over heard of a program on some tech show I was watching, of a app thats very usefull


i got a Macbook Pro with UK keyboard so i cant make a hashtag/tic-tac-toe symbol...

How can i get an app or something to make muy life easier?

If you just want the # symbol, press Alt-3. I don't have a British keyboard so I'm going on what I've found. For me, it prints the £ symbol.

13" MBA. 15" MBP. iPhone 4. 3G Pad 2.
System Prefs > Language & Text > Input Sources.
Check the Keyboard & Character Viewer.
Check Show Input Menu in menu bar.

Open the keyboard viewer from the icon on the menu bar > Press the shift key and the keyboard viewer shows which characters are available. Same with the option key and option shift etc.
Play with the Character Viewer for all the other symbol options.

Have fun.

ok but what about the other characters? I like to use ♫ ♪ and ♥ ¢ ƒ very offten, i dont want to be opening something on my menu bar everyt9ime and searching for these characters
