Hey,

I plan on recording with my band this summer.
I was told by a worker at Long & McQuade that the best way to do this (live) would be to hook up a presonus firebox 10 to my macbook, and run it through a program.

Since I dont want to spend an extra couple hundred dollars on recording software, I was wondering if Garageband had the capability to record up to 8 tracks in stereo, all at once.

We would be playing through songs one at a time, all the instruments at once, micing the amps. (2 guitar, 1 bass, 5 mics for drum kit)

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help.

Thanks a ton!

If you use an interface with the amount of inputs you need and plug that into you computer (via USB or Firewire - your choice!), you should be able to make as many tracks in garageband and arm them all at once to be recorded.

Hope that helped.
