23 inch dilemma

Hi,
I've been given one of the old 23 inch cinema displays, (not the aluminium one). I've plugged it in and the left hand half of the screen is just vertical lines. Exactly half of the screen. The right hand side is perfect. I expect it's beyond any reasonably priced repair, but if anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful for tips.

You're correct. If the LCD on the cinema display is defective, it's certainly not worth repairing. Just make sure the power connector is OK; if it is, then I wouldn't go any further.

Yes, I guessed it was too good to be true. Thanks for the advice - I think I'll buy a second-hand one anyway, as I also have the Apple adapter.
