I just bought a G5 to upgrade my G4 which is getting old. I had an M-audio 24/96 PCI sound card, but it won't work on the G5.
I looked on M-audio's website and it turns out there are two G5 models that are not compatible due to pci-x slots. It seems it was fixed in later G5 models, but luck would have it for me.
Can anyone reccomend a good sound card. The 24/96 was great because I got L&R audio in and out and 2x MIDI.
I run everything to a mixer, so all of the usb audio interfaces have a bunch of extra knobs I don't want.
Are there any decent audio cards out there I can use that don't cost a bunch? Any help appreciated.
I use this to do basic stuff in Digital Performer.
