I have a 2nd generation imac, and I want to connect it to my Samsung HDTV. All the instructions on the internet require a mini DVI adapter, but my imac was built before the mini DVI port was added, and there isn't a VGA port. How do I connect it to HDTV? I couldn't find ANYTHING on the internet addressing this issue.

If you have one of the first 3 or 4 models from '99 to '00 that do not have the VGA port, highly unlikely you're going to attach it to any external monitor.

I don't remember there being such a thing as an external video card for Windows during that time much less for a Mac.

You're not going to find an external USB video card sitting on the shelf in a store that's going to work on a 11-12 yr old Mac.
