My local library has audiobooks available for download via Overdrive Media Console. The library website says wma's can be d/l and converted, but is kind of sketchy on the process. When attempting to d/l wma files it says that the iPad does not support wma files. I'm guessing that I may be able to d/l to my iMac, convert, then sync to my iPad. Anybody have any experience with this process?

Thanks
R.

Must not be drm'd if they say you can convert them. That'd be surprising coming from a public library, thought all of those had drm.

I just did a free trial run of Switch for a few wma files I had and it did an excellent job of converting them to mp3. You can grab the trial here.

It's not cheap, but does a whole lot more than that.

Thanks for the info and site. $30 isn't bad. I'll give the trial a try and see if it does what I want. The audiobooks from the library expire in 3weeks from checkout. I would think the converted files will do so also.

Well, that's why I'm wondering how they would be able to be converted. There should be some form of drm in those files that causes them to expire and why I am not sure if Switch will convert them or not. I would think any type of conversion process would remove the drm.

That's above my skill level...I'll try it over the weekend and report...success or failure.
