So my goal is to be able to use my apple laptop as a monitor for games on my Xbox 360. (1) I am not quite sure where to begin, so first is this indeed possible? (2) If it is, what cords/adapters would I need and what are their approximate costs. (3) Also, would I need any other peripherals such as speakers to differentiate between left and right sounds? (4) Next, how would I go about setting this up? (5) And finally, what are your opinions or thoughts on performance for the following systems: MacBook, MacBook Pro (15 inch), an iMac. Are all powerful enough to generate the graphics required by the 360, or since the 360 is doing all the work, will the only thing factoring in be the resolution of each of those machines? If you could help out with any of these questions, that would be great! Thanks!

You can get eyetv hybrid for $150. it supports the red white and yellow AV wires so you can play xbox on your mac by hooking it up with the eye tv and then just play!

Setup level: Easy

I looked at the eyetv hybrid, and your right. The image quality is much less than the native resolution of the computer. While $150 isn't too expensive (and the eyetv does serve other purposes well), it wouldn't make much sense to get this over a new LCD TV. The TV can be bought for around the same price or slightly more, and one will get a better resolution and no lag. (In fact I found a 1080p television for as low as $250.)

On the other hand, would it be possible if you were running bootcamp? Since Xbox is Windows based, maybe that would allow for more connection opportunities. Any thoughts?

Also, wouldn't this be possible with Black Magic's Intensity Shuttle ($200)? If this connection works then graphics would be transmitted in full 1080p. Of course it also uses USB 3.0, and I'm not sure that the Mac is 3.0 capable. (Funny because it has an SDXC card slot but not USB 3.0). Anyways, any thoughts on this?
