I looked at the other forum sections and couldn't find where to place this, so it is here.

If I read the Apple sales agreement correct, it means that if I buy a product from Apple.com it will be the same price as it would be if I were to purchase it from a local retail shop. I was wondering because I will be heading into the city next week and would just rather purchase my MBP while I am there vs ordering it. But being in the city it has ridiculous sales tax due to local taxes (ends up being 9% or something). Would St. Louis's sales tax be applied to my online order, or just a state mandated sales tax (4.55%)?

Apple will apply the local sales tax that is in effect at the location where they ship the machine to. In other words, if you live in St. Louis and the local sales tax there is 9%, you will be charged the 9%. The state mandated sales tax (for most states) only applies on purchasing certain high ticket items. Here in Texas the state mandated sales tax is 6% which is what is charged if purchasing a new or used automobile. Otherwise the rate is the local rate.
