Hello y'all :D

I've been itching for the longest time pick up a MacBook Pro and yesterday was that glorious day. ;D

I also got a bang up deal with a Stanford Discount and of course the $100 Mac App Store Gift Card.

Please help me welcome the newest addition to my Apple Family

Specs:
QuadCore i7 2.3GHz
4GB RAM
750GB HDD
1GB ATI GPU
HD Webcam.
15" Hi Res (1680x1050) Anti-Glare Screen

She is a beauty. Humms like a dream, and my 4 year old MacBook (Black) looks very sad in the corner.

And Now some UnBoxing Images!

Sweeeet! We had a MBP and it was great. That multitouch trackpad is simply the best. We've since sold it and gotten an iPad since it was a better fit for our limited needs, but I'm still green with envy.

Congratulations!

I'm about a year away from an upgrade myself and what you have spec'd is a lot like what I am looking at.
Enjoy.

I'm from the Computer Protective Services, and we've received a report of you "spankin'" your computer and posting pictures of it in various states of undress on the internet. I'm going to have to take it into protective custody until a full investigation can be completed.

Thanks folks. This system is by far my fanciest computer to date.

I was initially going to go with the Glossy Hi Res screen, but when I was at the Apple Store I just fell in love with the Anti-Glare screen.

@Lifeisabeach, you ain't the only one green with envy. Everyone at my school/work is too :D

I also think I know you. Do you live in Wilmington, NC?

Yes, you do know me. And yes… they are STILL plugging along on that old MR unit.

Very nice move! Boy, you sure held out for a long time to upgrade - must be one of those starving student types :). What are you planning to run on it?

No so much starving student, rather I've been hooking up the rest of the family with better computers and iPads.

And I will be running all sort of stuff on it. Right now I am going to school for my Master's in Electrical Engineering so this MacBook Pro is going to be my work horse for school, for the next few years.

It's not fake. It has the Apple plastic bag on it so he probably bought it from the Apple store (which is 100% legitimate), he also mentioned he got the student discount (offered by a few, including Apple).

Nice.

Been eyeing that since it came out. Holding out to see what the next MBA has to offer. Am thinking I might can do an MBA, build a new Win7 box for video encoding and a 4 bay NAS for not much more than the MBP.

(While my wife freaks out because she's been unemployed since Feb.)
