Recently got a new hard drive for my macbook and was having trouble installing Snow Leopard onto it. When i turn my macbook on, all i get is a flashing symbol that depicts a folder with a question mark on the middle of it. Holding alt / option while the mac starts up only results in a blank white page and holding down "C" does nothing. My installation disk is inside and has no effect as well. Can someone please help? sorry im a noob ;P

Welcome to the Mac Forums.

Is your optical drive working? And are you sure you have the correct Snow Leopard install DVD for your machine? The DVD should either be the one that came with your MacBook or a retail copy. Also, did you install the new hard drive correctly?

Post the year and model of your MacBook.
