They could always just make an optical version available...That Apple, a company known for wanting to make thing easy for consumers is suggesting such a clunky solution, suggests that it’s well aware of the broadband problems facing a subset of the population and it can’t afford to ignore them.
Most people who live in a remote location don't even have an Apple Store an hour away or more. Apple is way too picky about where they build their Apple Stores.

... the local Reseller, who mainly sells PC's, will have no idea even if allowed to do this and then it is 90 minutes each way! Tried to convince me Mac Pro's do not have PCI-E slots and after half an hour arguing, admitted he had never seen a Mac Pro thought I meant a MacBook Pro!
