hey everyone this is my first post......

I am really new to mac books and need some advice/help......I just got 123 dvd copy so that i could put all my videos on a seagate 1.5TB hard drive. I really cant seem to figure out how this work or what i need to do to make this happen....I spent a few hours last night trying to figure it out but have failed at all attempts. I just wanna make them MEP4 files for later viewing on my mac book.....any help would be appreciated......
