Scansoft and OCR software

I recently bought both a S1500 Scansoft scanner and a MacBook Pro. I love both! The scanner scans documents to a PDF file on my Mac. With my thumb drive I can bring the document into my Word Perfect PC. I want to convert the Scanned PDF file to one I can edit and change. What software do you recommend?

You should check first to see if the software you are using with the Scansoft on the Mac can do OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Most scanners offer to do this (or include software intended for that job), and save the scanned document as a "Word" file (though I'm sure you could also save it as a text file or RTF file, both of which WP would be able to read no problem).
