Mac Tips, Tricks, And Easter Eggs - AppleMatters

My favorite is the shift and minimize trick and the Conway game of life.

For the text game, if you are not an interactive fiction veteran, learn a few simple commands :

x = examine (object) ex: x lamp
n,s,w,e = go in that direction
i = check inventory
l = look around
take = take object ex: take all = take all objects in the current room.

Whatever you do, don't eat the board.

Oh snap! I swear I saw a rerun of Big Bang Theory on CBS last night and this was the game that Sheldon was playing. Oh SNAP.

I'm lost. How do I use a shovel?

So I just tried the 2nd one - and was treated to a nice grey curtain descending down on my iMac screen and then was informed in several languages that I needed to restart my computer. Fun.

I like to mess around with that shift + killall Dock command. Just when you get REALLY bored. :) Also, it's fun to do it on the Macs in stores, and move over a computer and act like nothing is wrong. Seeing peoples' reactions is great.

Once I did that, I couldn't figure out how to get it out of that shape. Had to quit the app. Maybe that's the only way?

Works in Chrome too LOL

It works with any application, and no you don't need to quit. :) When you're on the application that has the warped window, you can just hold command+m to minimize it, and opening it back up will bring it up as normal. :)
