How to lock screen in place and save window arrangement

Does anyone know how to lock a window in place so that it's always on to and never moves until unlocked?

Also, does anyone know how to save a set of windows so that those exact windows will open in there pre arranged positions whenever a shortcut combo is used?

Good news! Lion will solve these problems, and it will be out in about a month!

Go have a look at the keynote video during the first third of it, with Phil Schiller demonstrating Lion. I think "Resume" is feature number 7 of the 10 he demonstrates.
