Program stopped responding?

For some reason a program froze. Had a multicolored spinning wheel spinning away. Keyboard/mouse would not do anything. On PC I'd have hit ctrl-alt-delete to bring up the task manager.

Is there any such on a Mac? I ended up shutting it off and rebooting.

You can bring up the Force Quit dialog with cmd-opt-esc. There are plenty of other ways - but that's a good place to start.
