I have an issue where a magic mouse wont work on one particular machine. I can install it on other OSX machines and it works without issue. Is there a log file I can view to help determine the problem? Any other suggestions would be welcome as well.

Wireless Mouse?

Go into Apple System Profiler and see what it says concerning Bluetooth.

Wired Mouse?

Check out the USB connector on that machine.

Helps if you provide this information.

Make sure that Mac meets the OS system requirements:
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0* or Mac OS X v10.6.1 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0

Be sure BlueTooth is Enabled and Discoverable on the machine. What are the specs of the Mac where it's not working and what version of OSX is on that machine?

The osx version is 10.6.7 - snow leopard. The machine recognizes the device when it is plugged in, however the Bluetooth says searching. Also I checked the installed updates under system preferences and I didn't see the wireless mouse update 1.0 for Snow leopard listed.

I am beginning to think that this is a problem with 10.6.7. I have found several forums discussing this.

10.6.7 works fine here on 2 Macs with 2 Magic Mice. So don't think so.

We have other OSX macs here that the mouse works on. I haven't been able to confirm what version they are, but I would be willing to bet they are 10.6.7. I figured I would just put a thought out there.

I should also mention that the machine in question does not have Bluetooth built in. The mouse uses a usb Bluetooth adapter. Sorry about not posting all the details. I am still gathering them.
