Hey,

I have a MacbookPro A1150 from 2006 that has a faulty GPU and can't boot. I want to sell this on ebay for parts, but would like to include the HDD. However, without all my information on it. Is there a way to completely erase all data on the HDD? I don't have the means to firewire into it or to put it in another machine. Perhaps a way through a bootable dvd or thumb drive?

thanks!

Have you checked with Apple to see if it is eligible for out-of-warranty repair?

NVidia delivered a substantial number of defective units to Apple (and others) and a subsequent settlement on the issue could mean potential no-cost repair, so it may be worth checking first.
