So of course I have a new 27" imac, live in the country with no broadband connection, How does Apple figure people in this situation are going to update their investment to Lion with no DVD's available? Can't find any statements from Apple about this soon to be worldwide problem anywhere.

And I'm not about it drag it to a wifi connection and spend all day downloading 4 gigs from the MacApp stores servers that seem to always time out on you.

I think if they don't fix this problem there will be a lot of bootleg dvd's out there. :)

I can't possibly imagine that this is lost on Apple. I feel pretty certain that they'll have something available for you disadvantaged users. We'll know soon enough. In the mean time - enjoy Snow Leopard - I know I still am. :)

Since it hasn't been released yet, no one is really sure what the deal will really be with Lion. Maybe there will be DVDs available in areas like yours where reliable hi-speed isn't there yet. You'll have to wait and see.

Worry about it when Apple releases Lion. Unless you are in a situation where you MUST upgrade to Lion on day 1, fretting about it beforehand is pointless. Your computer isn't going to stop working, nor will your apps fall apart.

No need to worry, Lion is going to be available on App Store in July, I guess Apple will release Lion DVD right after, I am guessing september, max.
