Can anyone help me.
I have a Mac Book and I want to connect it to my TV via a HDMI cable. My Mac Book is running OSX v10.6.7 and was bought last April 2010.
I have spoken to two different people at the Apple store and have been given conflicting advice.
1st guy told me that since my Mac Book was pre May 2010 I would need an adapter to connect my Mini Display to the HDMI cable. So I bought one. Picture quality is good but I have no sound. So I returned to Apple Store to ask about settings in the Utilities.
The 2nd guy told me that my Mac Book was old and that its Mini Port didn't support sound. Therefore I would need to buy an additional cable to connect my headphone socket to my TV.
Now I don't know who to believe. May be the 1st guy was right or the 2nd but I don't want to end up buying loads of cables and adapters If the guys in the Apple store don't know whats going on.
So my question is-can anyone advice me on how this connection is possible??
