Just noticed that the time on my iMac has advanced by 1 hour.
Anyone any ideas what might have happened?
I have it set to auto.

British Summer Time started two and a half months ago so while it's possible, it's probably not likely.

neilf, when did this start? If it's recent, set OS X to get the date and time automatically: System Preferences > Date & Time > check "Set date and time automatically."

Vansmith,
I had all that set. Always have had. For 3 odd years.

When I fiddled with the region time (where you move the time zone on a world map) I noticed that it was always 1 hour ahead, wherever you set the zone. So for example, London time is out by 1 hour ahead, move zone to central europe, and that too is 1 hour ahead.
With all the recent discussion on Mac malware/trojan/virus, I wonder if something has been installed, unbeknown to me.

Are you using Bootcamp by any chance? Back when I dual booted Linux on my old notebook with Windows, each OS would have different means of setting the time and as such, they would commonly change the time in the other OS. It seems that this issue can occur with BC as well. Take a look at this and give that fix a try (record the initial value so you can change it back in case something screws up).

I am using bootcamp.
This has only just started happening after I updated bootcamp. This is the Bootcamp version which can see the Mac drive. Before that, I had no issues.
I will investigate your linked fix.
Thank you
