Hello,
I have a macbook pro and am running Mac OS X version 10.5.8.
I have just been asked to download some software which requires 10.6.6.
Is it possible for me to update my OS?
I tried 'software update' but it didn't give me an option to do this.
Any help gratefully received.

You need to purchase Snow Leopard to get 10.6.

That is, if you are using an Intel Mac. It will not install on any of the older PPC Macs.

Even better install Snow Leopard on your MBP and update that to Lion OS X.7 next month.
