new macbook pro 17 inch good enough

Hi everyone..

im thinking in buying the new macbook pro 17 inch...i will be using it for multimedia... i was just wondering what is the difference between the older model? Heard that it has super good quality screen... and faster.. anyone got one

I have one of the last 17" core 2 duo - I can modify avchd video with it. The newer ones are much faster so any of the i5/i7 will handle any multimedia you throw at it.

I did buy it for the screen real-estate. I have the glossy and got used to it. I actually prefer it now.

I have the latest MBP 17 (see the text under my Avatar) and love it. I do quite a bit of video production and lately stepped into audio with a couple friends who want to record and album. This machine is a beast.
