I have a 2007 white Macbook. I bought this 2nd HDD Apple OptiBay SuperDrive Replacement PATA DV23 - eBay (item 290569364304 end time Jun-22-11 20:28:18 PDT) to add a second hard drive to my mac because my combo drive dosent work and i have a couple extra hard drive laying around. Does anyone know if this will affect my Mac's performance. Particularly my Cpu and speed? Will there be a way i can turn off the extra Hdd if i need to? Should i do this in the first place? Im doing it mainly to separate my windows 7 and OS X. Thanks in advance.

Way... way too many specs to list.
Having a second drive on a separate SATA port shouldn't effect your processor usage at all.
