I have a 3 year old imac 20 inch iMac

Memory: 1 GB
Here is my problem.
There is a line going across the bottom of my web pages it doesn't seem to be on the desktop. While either browsing or playing solitaire the desktop bleeds into the web page. The page will just start looking like it is being pulled apart or something. (Hard to explain.)
I did clean out where the memory goes as there was dust in there and all was well for a while but now it is doing it again & freezing up a few times as well.
Was wondering if it could be the graphic card going or it the memory.
Any ideas ??
