Pages background color?

Hi i have been searching without success to try and find how to change the background color (the full page) of my pages document. Does anyone know how this can be done?

MacBook Pro|15" Hi-Res Anti-Glare|2.2 GHz quad i7|4GB RAM
Here's one way:

Insert -> Shape -> Rectangle
Choose your fill color
Then click View -> Show Inspector
Then check these boxes:

Then resize it to take up the whole page.

I wish there was a way to do this for all the pages easily without having to do the insert rectangle thing all the time. I just want a black background while I'm typing, it's SO much easier on the eyes. Black text on bright white is a killer and causes me much more eye-strain / pain.

And obviously by inserting rectangle, it's not possible to just easily switch all the pages to white background and black text when you want to print.

If you just want it for viewing and not printing you can use the shortcut control/option/command+8. You may need to go to preferences/keyboard/shortcuts/accessibilty and check the box to allow invert colors
