If this trade doesn't go through, my only option is to format my Mac and install Linux (YES LINUX) onto it. Is there anybody who can tell me if its possible to format the blueberry ibooks hardrive WITHOUT NEEDING A BOOT DISC OF ANY KIND? Is there a unix command for it or somesuch?

Thanks. :( Just so tired of fricking around with this broken OS.

Closer than you think.
Your Mac's Specs
Performa 6116 2GBSCSI 8MB OS 7.5.3
Understand this,...NO OS WILL LET YOU FORMAT THE ACTIVE PARTITION WHILE YOU ARE BOOTED TO IT!

If your goal is to format it you would still need the OS disk to install a new OS anyway.

BTW,...the OS disk will Initialize(format) if you have one.

If you want to get linux on there, I'd download a PPC linux distro, burn it to CD and then boot from that.

Alternatively, Unbuntu offers free boot/install CD's for all platforms with free shipping on their website.
I got a couple to pass around recently, really quite cool!
