I was researching my comp to see if I have USB 2.0. lowendmac.com said 12Mbps - is this 1.1 or 2.0? Or if anyone knows for sure that the MDD 1.25 G4 came with 2.0. If not how might I go about upgrading? Thanks.

That's USB 1.1

USB 2.0 has a 480 Mbps transfer rate.

Thats right - comparable to Firewire :)

Anyone ever upgraded their machine to USB 2.0 in a Powermac?

There have been many reports of problems of waking from sleep when some USB 2 cards are added. The solution seems to be to disconnect all devices from the USB card before the machine sleeps. Other cards seem to work without problems. You might want to check this report before you go shopping: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/firewire/fw_usb_card_deep_sleep.html#storytop

Thanks Badger - I'll check that out before I buy

If you are looking for USB 2 cards to use with an iPod Apple just released this info: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93405. For desktops they list either a Belkin or Orange Micro USB 2 card. The article doesn't mention the sleep issues so you might want to cross-check the recommended cards with the link in my previous response.
