Hi, please forgive me if I'm in the wrong place? I've never used this before & it all seems quite confusing to me. I need to install Windows xp on a Mac machine, I'm so unfamiliar with mac. Please could someone kindly advise? My system is... power mac G4...I think? Please could someone advise? Thank you.

If it's truly a PowerMac G4, you're not going to be able to run Windows efficiently on it. The G4 is a PowerPC (not Intel) processor. The only way to run Windows is via emulation, and it's going to be slower than molasses in January.
But if you want to try, check out iEmulator. It's the only supported solution for x86 emulation on old Macs.
Now, if you had an Intel-based machine, this would be a no-brainer. Intel-powered Macs would be just about any Mac made after 2005. This includes any Mac Pro, MacBook/Pro. iMacs and Mac Minis made after 2006 will be Intel as well.
