help with getting remote control app working on network

hi, I have an apple extreme router upstairs, I ran a cable downstairs and directly plugged in, works, so I plugged it into another router, and connected to the downstairs router on my mac and iphone, both connect to the downstairs routers ssid and work great, I goto Remote Control, set up the code iTunes, it says it is successfully connected in iTunes, but the iPhone cannot connect.

I can't figure it out, is it because it is being daisy chained strange? if you awesome people can help me, it would be most appreciated! I need remote control to work

What do you mean "plugged in and it works"? What did you plug it into? We need more detail of your setup.
