How do I set Mail not to sync with Spam or Junk folders?

I use Mail to retrieve email from my Yahoo and Hotmail accounts. Both are POP accounts. I am very happy with their spam filtering. Mail is currently retrieving email from all of the folders in each account. I would like to set Mail to only retrieve email from the main Inbox folders in each account but can't figure out how to accomplish this. Any help would be appreciated.
