There is no really viable alternative. There WAS a long time ago a product that worked sorta kinda and dog slow called VirtualPC, but that's been off the market for nearly a decade. It was never really a good option even at the time, but it was all we had back then.
The basic solution to the need to run Windows programs and all you have is a G4 is:
a. Save up for a used or new Intel Mac.
b. Buy a cheap Wintel netbook or PC for this specific purpose.
