Google Chrome & Microsoft Exchange email problem

I am using Google Chrome to access Microsoft Exchange email from work. When email arrives, I hear a terrible noise, notifying me that mail has arrived. It sounds like a radio with the station tuner set between stations. I have no idea how to change this to a simple "ding" or something else.

If I use Safari, I hear a simple ding sound.

How can I fix this?
