Weird Symbols that never go away

I have no idea how to get rid of this symbol.

As you can see, I was using the VJ program and all you read is this symbols.

Why am I seeing it? How do I fix this?

Way... way too many specs to list.
I'd start with clearing your font cache.

There are CLI utilities to do this, however.. Onyx and Mainmenu both do this.
