syncing to ipod

Okay I know I must be doing something wrong here. I downloaded a bunch of apps to my macbook pro, then synced them to my Ipad. Some were for Ipad and some for ipod touch. The ipad accepted all of them. Now I am trying to sync the apps from my macbook pro to my ipod touch. For some reason or another they wont sync. I know this must be operator error. Would someone care to enlighten me? thanks.

Did you put a check next to them on the apps tab while the iPod was connected?

The iPad only apps will not sync to your iPod.
