New MBP owner, help with transition from PC

Please help me not screw up~

I have purchased a 3 TB hard drive and I am transferring my photos there, then to the MBP from there...

The one question I have is the music library from iTunes on my PC... Do I go into the program file and copy them to the external hard drive and then to the iTunes program file in the MBP?
