Hello all.

I searched but could not find any information on my issue, mostly because I don't know what to call it.

Basically, when not doing anything unusual (i.e., web-browsing, word document, etc.), my MacBook Pro will spazz out when attempting to do anything. It gets super confused and using expose, trying to switch from window to window, or moving the mouse down towards the dock will result in a garbled mess on the screen, like this:

I'm given no choice but to reboot at this stage, after which everything is fine, but the problem will come back in a few days.

I'm concerned about my MacBook, so I'm wondering if anyone has any inclination as to what may be the issue with my MacBook.

Sorry again if this has been asked.

MacBook Pro
Mac OS X Version 10.6.7
2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB Memory

Since that was a screen shot you took when the glitch occurred it's being generated by graphics, possibly the graphics processor.

Try running the Apple Hardware Test to see if it comes up with anything that might tell us what's going on. See this LINK for instructions.

Is your machine covered by warranty or extended warranty (Apple care)?

Screen distortion when moving mouse

My IMAC just started doing this also. Did you find out the issue and how to fix it.

Which model iMac do you have? Also, you can test to see if it's the graphics processor or something else by attaching an external monitor or TV to your iMac. If the same occurs on the external monitor or TV, the graphics processor is at fault.

Note: You will need an adapter and cable to attach an external monitor or TV.
