Mail wont search entire message

iMac Core i5(3.6 GHz) 8 GB RAM, MBP C2Duo(2.4 GHz) 4 GB RAM, MB C2Duo(2.4 GHz) 2 GB RAM
I'm having an issue with the Mail app. When I try to search, I can search by from, to, or subject, but the entire message option is grayed out. Does anyone know how to fix this?

problem is resolved after a system restart.
