I have a Mac Mini running 10.5.8 and the display suddenly went dim. It doesn't look like it is a monitor issue or the USB to VGA adapter. The monitor is extremely dim and I can barely make things out. I have tried changing the Display profile and changing out the USB to VGA adapter.

Any ideas on what else to try?

Well, if you have a known good monitor that you can switch it out with, than I would do that first. That way you can say, the monitor isn't it for sure. From there you can try switching out cables, and work your way back. Also on your apple keyboard there is a dim and brighten button, you might want to try that first.(F1 and F2)

I am working on getting another monitor to test with. It is going to take a couple of days. I will try the brightness keys. When I changed the display profile it helped a bit. Any other ideas?

I was able to get my hands on a monitor and it ended up being the monitor.

Thank you for your help.
