ripping Dvd's on macbook

Does the macbook or macbookpro come with the ability to rip a dvd onto it? if not is there a program worth downloading to do it?

legally

i have some home videos on dvd that i've made awhile back on a different computer and didn't have the software quite like the mac does. so i wanted to import it, edit it again, reproduce the home videos.

Since they are legal movies, you can use Disk Utility like Schweb suggested or a burning application like the free Burn or Roxio Toast if you want a really nice piece of burning software.

How do you use the disk utility? Is it pretty basic if your dvd is in and you open the disk utility? Would downloading a program be better?
